Raw Cacao Walnut Brownie
Infused with orange essential Oil and topped with peppermint essential oil frosting!!
We can all use a little more sweetness in our lives! It’s true.
- Ingredients:
2 cups walnuts
8 large dates – pitted (soft and fresh)
3/4 cup raw cacao or carob powder if preferred
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or almonds
1/4 cup chopped soft raisins or tart cherries
6 drops Young Living Orange Oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Taste as you go to increase the dates and alter the sweetness to your liking. I love dark and bitter but my husband likes it sweet!! You can also add more or less cacao, go slow…..

1. Place 2 cups of walnuts in a food processor outfitted with the “S” blade and grind until they are finely ground.
2. Add the Cacao Powder and pulse to combine.
3. Add the orange essential oil and vanilla extract and pulse to mix.
4. Add the dates one at a time through the feed tube while the processor is running. You should end up with a mixture that appears like cake crumbs, but when pressed will easily stick together. If not add more dates. Check the flavor and add more orange oil is desired. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.
5. Add the remaining walnuts and chopped raisins to the brownie mixture. Mix well with your hands. If the mixture is dry sprinkle with water.
6. Pack firmly into a 7×7 inch pan and chill 1 hour before cutting and serving.
- For the topping blend together:
1/2 cup Young Living Agave
4 tablespoons cacao powder
2 tablespoons olive or avocado oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoons coconut manna or coconut oil – melted
3 to 4 drops peppermint oil
Blend in a high speed blender.
Top the brownies.
